So far, we only know social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the like, which are meant to socialize between humans as social beings—virtually. But, it turns out that now there is a social media for a pet named Purrch.
Purrch was relaunched on Wednesday (10/2) last week in New York as social media devoted to pets. Of course not fully operated by these animals, but animal lovers who want to form a community related to their pets.
If you visit Purcch, you will be shown photos of animals such as cats, dogs, birds, and so on. It is on Purrch’s social media that animal keepers can interact with each other, share knowledge, and follow up face to face for their hobbies.
In fact, Purrch is also a medium that brings together pets and potential adopters. “Our vision for Purrch is quite simple, which is to provide the right pet community,” said Vail Weymann, co-founder and CEO of Purrch.
Along with its launch, Purrch announced partnerships with four leading advocacy groups such as Adopt-A-Dog, Alive Rescue, Rescue City, and PAWS Lynnwood. Ken Herbert, co-founder and CTO of Purrch, said the partnership was very valuable to the Purrch community.
“Purrch offers a unique space for pets and keepers everywhere to come together and build strong communities. We are currently part of the Purrch platform,” said Dana Kats, Executive Director of Rescue City, in an official statement on Wednesday (10/2).
Although it can only be downloaded on the App Store and cannot be enjoyed by Google Play Store users yet, Purrch has been welcomed by its users. “One of the most useful pet social networking apps I have ever seen,” wrote one Purrch user on his website.
