The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the process of adopting artificial intelligence (AI) technology, but many also think that it is too fast than it should be. Even so, all business leaders believe AI can help solve some of the toughest challenges in various industries today.
In a recent survey by KPMG LLP, the US firm of the KPMG global organization of independent professional services firms providing audit, tax and advisory services, it was revealed that company leaders admit that AI adoption is very useful in helping business processes, but the pandemic has pushed it too fast. Because, currently they are still debating about ethics, governance and AI regulations.
“Many business leaders have no view of what their organizations are doing to control and regulate AI and may fear the risk of developing,” said Traci Gusher, principal of AI at KPMG, as stated in his official statement on Tuesday (9/3).
Concerns about the speed of AI adoption were particularly prominent among small companies (63%), business leaders with high AI knowledge (51%), and Gen Z and Millennial business leaders (51%). Although, again, the majority of them said the adoption of AI was quite helpful for company operations during the pandemic.
